Oh the Research..
I don't know about you guys, but research is a pain in the tushie for me. I know that it is inevitable for a college english class, but on the up side I was glad we were able to work in groups. When we were first starting this project, we were divided into groups of people who had somewhat the same service learning genre, The funny thing is that I am not entirely sure that our group stuck with that topic. Nonetheless, we are working hard on our current topic. I enjoy working in groups because of the ole' saying, "two heads are better than one." In this case, its four heads which is even better! With multiple people in the group then the overwhelming workload of a 20-40 page research paper can be divided up into something a bit more manageable in these last few stressful weeks of the semester. For the most part my group has been pretty reliable. Some members have not fully completed their portion as of yet but there is still time before our rough draft is due. For every good thing there is of course a bad thing. What I mean is that with the benefit of having more people to help with one big project, I struggle in the sense of control. I like to have things done my way, because if its my way it is not right. Yes, yes, I am well aware of how terrible that this sounds, BUT I am just a little specific in how I like to accomplish things in life. Working in groups is a big test for me because I tend to become a little impatient and overbearing in what my group members are doing. Overall, my group has been on top of their game and are chugging along on this research paper. Hopefully all the stress and hard work will reflect in our grade. HINT HINT WINK WINK!!

Overwhelming!
My community service is DONE!! I have spent a few long days with my mother to get all 30 of the required service learning hours finished. I am so very excited that I am done and did not leave a bunch of hours until the end of the semester. I don't know about you guys, but I have a million papers and tests coming up for these last few weeks of school. I have been working on the research paper with my group and am hoping that we can pull of an A paper in this time of chaos and stress. To top off the 3 papers and studying for test that I must do for finals, I am also moving for good! This is my last semester here at Purdue University (in West Lafayette)... sad but excited for the changes... In May I am off to Ireland to study abroad for 3 weeks then in the Fall I will be attending Purdue North Central, near my hometown. The most stressful thing about the entire situation is that I have to take finals, move home, pack for Ireland, and travel across the Atlantic Ocean, all within a 4-6 day span. For those of you who have still not completed your community service hours, I encourage you to get it out of the way as soon as possible or you may be as out-of-your-mind as me in the upcoming weeks. Good luck to everyone! Boiler Up!
